Pavilion Lake Marble Canyon, British Columbia is quite famous in the recent years for what is now being called as fresh water corals. These are distinctive carbonate rock formations, acknowledged as microbialites are covered with microbes formed in the base of the lake which are quite alien looking. This is very interesting to scientists all over the world in an expedition to the lake carried out by a team including Darlene Lim, a geo-biologist studied these for a long time. This area is a place where NASA is currently very interested I and are curious to send out scientists and astronauts to this region to study this.
